Christian von Hammel-Bonten Appointed as Non-Executive Director to the Board of Token Inc

With over two decades of international experience in the payment sector, von Hammel-Bonten brings a wealth of expertise to Token Inc.

Christian von Hammel-Bonten joins the board of Token Inc. as a Non-Executive Director. An industry veteran with over 20 years of international experience in the payment sector, Von Hammel-Bonten is an independent consultant for payment and digital transformation. His extensive background spans technology, ecosystems, and networks in payment processing, issuing, embedded finance, risk management, and fraud prevention across Europe.

Von Hammel-Bonten previously served as the CEO of paydirekt GmbH, a subsidiary of German banks and savings banks, which operated the paydirekt and giropay account-to-account payment methods. ​​Prior to his tenure at paydirekt, von Hammel-Bonten held the position of Chief Product Officer at PPRO Group, overseeing the company's alternative payment solutions and card programmes.

His professional experience also includes serving as Executive Vice President at Wirecard, where he shaped the company’s global product strategy and established the mobile payment/telecommunications division. He gained additional experience in different roles at Clickandbuy, and the IT start-ups Norcom Technologies and BROKAT. He holds a degree in Business Informatics from the University of Mannheim.
